Second Principle: Find a running group
There are many running groups to run with across the US. Some groups are free and meet at the park on Sundays, while some are part of a paid group training for a curtain running event. Usually a marathon. Here is a link to some of the running groups in the US.
How to choose a club? I would suggest picking a group who has runners that run at your same level. If you are new, find a club that h…as new runners. What you don’t want is to join a group were everyone is a pro runner and you are the beginner. You will not enjoy the experience.
When you have picked your group remember Principle One. (Read Below) You are going to encounter people in the group that are what I call the “Super Runner” they have run 4000 marathons, eat only granola. (That they made themselves.) Run all day and night. You get the idea. Sure they are nice people, but probably not the best resource for the beginning runner. Stay the course. Enjoy your runs. You found your group. You have some structure. You are now better off than 90% of the runners just starting.
Have a great run. smile emoticon
